Cartref Care Home, Ammanford, Carmarthenshire
Following a large extension to this nursing / care home, there was a requirement for a high canopy over the entrance and drop off area. High enough to accommodate high ambulances and mini busses this "Oxford" canopy was adapted to meet these demands.

An existing canopy that only served one classroom has been dismantled and replaced with a 5m wide x 29m long Oxford lean to style canopie clad with flexible PVC material. Installed to the entire length of the school building this canopy now gives access from several classrooms to the covered play area.

The requirement was for a smoking shelter to accommodate larger numbers at this busy airport. The Oxford canopy at 6m x 10m has proven to be the ideal solution.

The initial requirement was for a smoking shelter however this structure now doubles up as a covered outside eating area for a franchise restaurant, as the photograph shows this is a well utilised addition.

The requirement here was to cover 3 activity areas a sand pit, stage and soft play area, a change in levels of around 1m without loss in headroom was engineered into the specification.

The Oxford canopy was chosen to replace a tired looking corrugated fibreglass mono pitch roof canopy and brighten the parent waiting area and children's play area.

For this reception class soft play area an Oxford was chosen, it accommodates larger play equipment during the winter months.

An Oxford Canopy has been installed to the front of a parade of shops,
providing a link between them during bad weather and in addition creating
valuable, outdoor retail display space.

Arranged in negotiation with the clients architects and supplied via the main contractor (Apollo London Ltd) this canopy creates a well received assembly area outside of the students entrance. The canopy is set high to enable a clear view of feature stained glass windows beyond.

This new PFI school had no covered play area for the reception classes on this exposed site. The answer we provided was this 5m x 15m Oxford canopie with link canopies to the classroom doors. Polycarbonate infill panels were installed on the back wall to increase the weather protection.

As the first (above) canopy had proven to be successful the Head Teacher chose to have a second canopy for the older children. This 5m x 15m canopy faces the playing field giving protection from the rain and sun to both children and parents watching sports events.

South facing classrooms received a practical face lift with this 3.5m x 29.5m long canopy. The canopy provides much needed shade for the extensive playground area and effectively links all the classrooms with an external covered corridor. Play equipment and furniture remains dry and cleaner in bad weather.

One of many projects in the Staffordshire area, arranged in liaison with the schools property officer and respective Head Teachers, this canopy bought welcome relief to a hot bright playground.

This Oxford canopy was produced in a lean-to tapered trellis style to match the existing roof line whist not restricting overall headroom. The canopy specification was developed to the architects and schools requirements in association with ourselves and now provides a sheltered parents waiting area and a walkway.

Organised by the PTA to protect a small reception class play area from the sun and rain. The trellis hoops were tapered to make the best use of the available height whilst matching existing roof lines, the alternative would have been to over sail the existing roof.
